This is easier said than done. This is just a short blog containing some ideas and knowledge on how to avoid damage to your things in the moving process.

  • If there are any really precious things to you that you can fit into your car then take them yourself. As no-one will take as good a care of your stuff than yourself.
  • Investigate and find a good removalist. Do some research, online reviews for example. One of the biggest online review sites is www.womo.com.au.
  • Don’t choose the cheapest removalist, as the age old adage… ‘you get what you pay for’ often will come into play.
  • reduce the weight of any heavy items as much as you can. eg: remove shelves, glass shelves from furniture etc.
  • Let your removalists know how important certain items are to you (this will help a lot).
  • Try to be aware of not putting too much urgency on the removalists to hurry as things go wrong very easily when hurried.
  • Use good quality packing materials, and use plenty of bubble wrap, label boxes clearly.

These are just a few ideas for you. I hope your move goes well.
