This is the million dollar question. It is literally impossible to accurately say how long your move will take. Any removalist that does promise you over the phone is simply trying to win the job from you. Even after having done over a thousand removals now I am still surprised on occasion how long or how quick some removals take. I never promise customers how long the moves will take, I do offer rough estimates. What I do promise however is that we are extremely careful with our customer’s belongings and that we work hard. The following are some of the factors that can lengthen the removal time on your next move, and this may also give you ideas on how to account for some of these things.
Distance is everything! The closer the truck gets the faster your move! How close can the truck actually get to your place? Do you need to tell the neighbours a couple days before so you can reserve some parking, make sure their cars aren’t in the way. How high and wide is the truck you have booked? Will it fit down your driveway, is there overhanging branches that may stop the truck getting another 20 metres closer etc.
Does all your furniture fit through the doorways? Have you built some things inside that now will not fit out of the house? You can save time by measuring some of the items in question and if you know how, start dismantling to save our guys time. Will you need to take any doors off at the hinges? Alternatively we have all the correct equipment and we can do it for you.
