After you have unpacked, you might notice that you usually land up popping bubble wraps which is by far the most useful packaging material to protect valuables and fragile items. This piece of packaging material can do wonders if it is used to its full potential. Most removalists like All The Right Moves Removalists could swear by it.

Here are 5 tips to keep in mind while working with bubble wraps.

Tip 1

The first predicament often faced while using the bubble wraps is: “What side goes on the outside and what side goes inside?” The flat side definitely goes outside since the bubbled side cushions and protects items from bouncing and jolting.

Tip 2

Tape the edges of the package generously to ensure the items don’t slip out of the wraps during transport. The last thing you want is for your favourite coffee set to shatter into pieces right before you are about put it in the cupboard!

Tip 3

Use newspapers to pre-warp some items that may have sharp edges or spikes which may burst the bubble wraps. This is also a great way to make sure the people helping you move out (including the removalists you might want to hire to ease your work load) are safe and no injuries happen during your move. You don’t want to drop everything and rush to the hospital to stitch a bad cut, do you?

Tip 4

Use a masking tape to label all the packages. Although bubble wraps are clear, it’s not easy to see through the wrap, especially when you have several layers on an item.

Tip 5

Once you’ve moved home, unpacked, and settled in, don’t let the kids pop all the bubble wraps. We know it’s great fun and somehow relaxing (weird, right?), but you might need them again in the near future.

If you follow these 5 tips, we are sure you will be able not only to make great use of your bubble wraps, but also to have a safe and productive move.
